Ingredients to Avoid
Pore Clogging Ingredients in Skin Care Products:
These ingredients cause microcomedones in acne prone individuals and may result in lesions from clogged pores.
Isopropyl Myristate (this is found in Retin A products for aging)
If you are using a Retin A product from your physician for acne, make certain it is in GEL form.
This form should not contain Isopropyl Myristate.
(Also check Clindamycin Topical Solution and some brands of Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) for it as well.)
Cetyl Alcohol, Natural Vitamin E, Cocoa Butter.
Also check your make-up for D & C red dyes.
Laureth-4 impedes the action of BPO.
There are additional ingredients to this. I can give you a list when you come in for treatment.
Ice is your friend
Apply ICE to inflamed pustules and pimples;
2-3 times a day for 2-3 minutes.
It will help with redness and also
allow the the products you are using to work more effectively.
(make sure to dry skin before applying products)
Avoid Iodides - They Aggravate Acne
Avoid IODIDES in foods, vitamin supplements, sports drinks and energy bars.
IODIDES are included in seafood, seaweed, fast foods, dairy products and,
of course Iodized Salt.
